Game at Comerica Park

Many baseball fans know that parking near a Major League Stadium is typically pretty expensive. In fact if you frequent Comerica Park you may have paid upwards of $15 or $20 to park near the stadium.

I have some good news to bring; you can stop wasting that money. Here are 3 places to park at a Detroit Tigers game for $5 or less.

1. $5 Tigers Parking

For the 2009 season, the Tigers introduced several $5 items and one of them is official team parking. Most of the team lots are going to cost you $15, but there is one large lot that bucks that trend. The $5 lot isn't too much more of a walk than it's more costly counterparts, and you can find the lot directly West of Comerica Park on alongside Columbia St. The Tigers' website and my Comerica Park Guide both show a map view of this if you are unfamiliar with it.

2. Free Parking at Greektown Casino

If you don't mind a little further walk, you can park in one of the parking structures for the Greektown Casino for free and walk to the Tigers game. There are 2 casino garages, 1 of which needs validation to be free. The other is right off of I375 and it doesn't even need a ticket or validation; it's just free. From the Interstate take the East Lafayette exit and make an immediate right into their parking garage. You can also park in the other and you just need to walk into the casino to find a validation machine and get your money back; very simple. You could also just gamble after the game and make it worth your while.
3. $3 Parking at Nemo's

Both of the first 2 options I gave do involve a fair amount of walking. If walking is not one of your favorite things to do, you can find parking for $3 at Nemo's Sports Bar on the day of the game and take their free shuttle to Comerica Park. You should arrive at least an hour before game time to do this, but it's pretty convenient and you can also eat or drink there to save money compared to ballpark prices.
There are additional ways to save money at a Tigers game, but finding cheap parking is a good start
